About Us

SHAMS-UL-ULOOM COLLEGE OF EDUCATION at Markapur was established by Islamic Educational and Cultural Society during the early part of 2003 for the year 2002-2003 after getting recognition by the Southern Regional Committee of National Council for Teacher Education vide FAP/New/BEd197/SRO/NCTE/2002-03/0148 dated 28-02-2003 and also with the NOC from the State Government of Andhra Pradesh. The college is affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University. The college has twin objectives of developing the educationally and economically backward area of Markapur and also to serve the Muslim religious minority group to take care of their educational, social and economic needs. Of course as an educational institution the college may immediately serve the cause of education only.

The college is located in a campus of nearly 7.20 acres of land on which a three storied building with a floor area of 23,000 Sq.Fts. is constructed. The building has an Administrative Block with 4 rooms for Office, Staff, Principal and Chairman of the management. It has a Library Hall with Reading Room facilities. Separate laboratories for Computer, ET, Psychology, Physical Science, Biological Science and Work Experience are provided by the college. The college has adequate number of Class Rooms, Common Hall, Seminal Hall along with adequate number of Toilets for both Men and Women. More physical space is provided by the management with the idea of establishing more number of courses of study. The college has created sufficient Play Ground keeping the future developments in view. An open air theatre that can accommodate 500 persons is available for conducting cultural activities.

The college has 10 permanent teaching staff including the staff for computer and physical education with two persons having Ph.D degree and two persons having M.Phil degree qualifications. There are 02 technical and 03 administrative staff. The intake for the B.Ed course is 100 and the total number of teaching days is 180 and the unit cost of the course is Rs. 12,000/- per student per year which is quite reasonable.

The college volunteered to be assessed by The National Assessment and Accreditation Council and submitted the Self-Study Report to the council for evaluation during 2006. The NAAC constituted the following peer team for the assessment ofthe college.

Our Managing Director

Hon’ble Mr.Mirza Usman Baig-Founder & MD. He was born on 1st July, 1940 in Markapur, Prakasam Dist, Andhra Pradesh. He worked in Panchayat Raj Dept under Govt of AP. He took voluntary retirement in 1993. And also he worked as Municipal Co option Member for 5 years. He started the Islamic Educational & Cultural Society in the Year 1998. There after he started nearly 12 different Institutes one after another. He is the Full Time Co-Ordinator of all the Institutions under the Society.

Our Chairman

Mr. Mirza Shamsheer Ali Baig M.A.,MBA,M.L., the Chairman is a well known educationalist. he was born-in 1970s in educated family his ancestors were native of Markapur town.He studied up to graduation in local schools & colleges.He has completed his post graduation from Acharya Nagarjuna University. He was rank holder in the University.

He has completed his B.L(Bachelor of Law )Degree from S.V University, Tirupathi in 1997. He was enrolled as an advocate in the Bar-council of A.P. He has completed his M.L (MASTER OF LAW ) degree from Acharya Nagarjuna University in 2005.He has also completed his MBA Degree from JNTU in 2012. He dedicated his life for the education service & social work.

Our Principal

Mr.Syed Basha has been working as a Principal (i/c) in Shams Ul Uloom College of Education, Markapur (Global Groups of Institutions). He has total experience of 12 years. He did M.Ed from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur & M.A. (Urdu), M.A. (History) from Moulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad and also & M.A. Politics Dravidan University and also M.Phil. He is a ratified Principal by S.C.E.R.T, Andhra Pradesh, Amaravathi.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
